Buying Property on the Orihuela Costa

The first of the coastal towns south of Torrevieja is Punta Prima. Well known for its pretty promenade and lovely clean beaches, it draws in snorkelers, swimmers and sun worshippers of all ages. There is a wide selection of local shops and Torrevieja is only a ten-minute drive where you will find absolutely everything you will ever need. There are some nice beach bars and restaurants, including the famous Nautilus Restaurant that sits on the corner of the bay. Property in this area is still good value for money and you will find a great mixture of new and resale villas and apartments.

The next town south is Playa Flamenca. Playa Flamenca covers quite a large area that stretches from the beach and a way inland. There is a commercial centre beachside known as Flamenca Beach which has plenty of lively bars and restaurants, and as you head inland you will find a large area of urbanisations and shops with apartments and villas galore. Property varies in age and price and its popularity as both a holiday destination and residential community makes it a great place to choose to buy.

Probably best known for its lively plaza and its famous 18 hole golf resort, Villamartin is probably the busiest town along the Orihuela Costa. It is only five minutes from some of the Costa Blanca’s loveliest beaches, and the magnificent Zenia Boulevard shopping centre is a short drive away. The other two first class golf courses within 10 minutes plus the easy motorway access has kept property prices in Villamartin nicely buoyant, however as it covers such a huge area, there are plenty of quality apartments, townhouses and villas to choose from.

Cabo Roig Marina

Cabo Roig is arguably the gem of the Orihuela Costa. The very popular long and lively “strip”  of bars, restaurants and shops that line the main N332 coast road is a sharp contrast to the charming tree-lined avenues and stunning clifftop villas that make up the old town of Cabo Roig. Nearer the main N332 road there are newer and less expensive suburbs of villas, apartments and townhouses which are still near enough to the beautiful blue flag beaches and shops to keep the whole area top of a lot of people’s wish lists.
