Buying Property in Catral
Catral is a bustling little town that is steeped in history that dates back to the 13th century and although Catral is a very typical Spanish town, a surprising amount of expats have decided to call it home. It is located in the Vega Baja about midway between the cities of Murcia and Alicante, and is surrounded by miles of nature reserves and farm lands, which give Catral its very healthy and peaceful vibe. The town itself can get very lively with plenty of bars and restaurants and the typical Spanish fiestas and social gatherings in the pretty town plaza. Town centre apartments and townhouses occasionally come on the market and the odd bargain renovation project can still be picked up, but it is mainly the sought after detached villas dotted around the surrounding countryside that draw in the expats looking for a tranquil Mediterranean life. The beautiful beaches at Guardamar and Santa Pola are a short 15 minutes drive east, as are the three famous golf courses of Vistabella, La Finca and La Marquesa.
