A riot of colour and spectacle at the Orihuela Medieval Market
Every year, the old centre of Orihuela city is transformed into a medieval showcase where visitors are transported back in time in a maze of colour, scents and music from days gone by. Organisers recreate the atmosphere of the middle ages in this, now famous, three-day event full of fun and wonder for all ages. Enjoy dance, puppet shows, theatrical performance, workshops and ancient crafts.
A feast for the senses
Sample artisan cheese or see handmade jewellery and gifts created before your eyes. The food and drink is a feast for the senses – grilled meat, traditional ale and even a smattering of authentic Arabic tea tents complete with delicate North African pastries. A delight!
This year’s Medieval Market takes place on Friday 31st January and Saturday and Sunday 1st and 2nd February. Orihuela city is easy to reach by car from all Costa Blanca towns such as Torrevieja, Guardamar, Los Montesinos etc, and parking is generally easy to find on the outskirts of the city while the market is underway.
